The day started like any other day. It was a Sunday and we had a slow, lazy morning. Eventually we got up and went grocery shopping at Costco. On our way home we grabbed a breakfast burrito to share that we ate on the couch as we always do and watched TV.

Mid-afternoon hit and I realized I needed to get ready. Bradley made plans for us to go on a sunset sail and dinner in La Jolla. Per usual the two of us are running late and rushing to get ready. It's date night and our anniversary so we both want to look good (I have no idea what's about to happen by the way).

As we're finishing up, Bradley gasps. I'm like, "Whaaat?!". He tells me that it might end up being just us two on the boat because the other couple who was booked with us never responded to the captain. It wasn't the first time we'd get to go on an excursion just us (lucky us I know) so I believed him. And when we get to the dock, the captain repeats the same thing Bradley told me so I'm still not suspecting anything. He asked if we could wait a few minutes for the other couple before taking off - they never showed up and off we went!

It was a gorgeous day, San Diego was really showing off. We started sailing in the harbor and it couldn't have been more perfect. Bradley queued up a playlist he put together that set the vibe and we saw really cool and apparently rare ships on the water while taking in the sunset over the San Diego skyline.

A song started playing (a cover from one of my favorite artists) and it got me all choked up. I remember feeling grateful for this sweet moment, sailing in our new town with the love of my life.

Next thing I know we're up and taking photos and Bradley asks the captain to capture a few of us. Bradley poses us and has us face the skyline with our backs to the camera. I'm thinking this is a cute shot and then he says "babe"... I turn to look at him and he's down. on. his. knee. Ahhh!! I'm immediately crying. It's the easiest yes of my life.

And here we are, 12 years later getting ready to celebrate our love with our nearest and dearest!
